Mark de Scande set up the domain on WP Engine and found that the process was a bit tricky. He thought of sharing the detailed procedure to help users who are looking around to find a step by step guide to set up domain on WP Engine.

Ten Steps to Set up domain on WP Engine

1Login to WP Engine using your login credentials.

Enter your valid email id and password to get access to the dashboard of WP Engine account.set up of domain on WP Engine

2After logging to WP Engine account, you get the home page.WP Engine Dashboard for setting domain

Click “Installs” option on the above screen. (Next to “Home” option, marked with a red oval.)

3Next screen is about configuring various options related to your WP Engine installs.WP Engine configuration for setting domain

You have to click “Domain” option on the left side bar in the above screen. (Below “Overview”, marked with a red oval.)

4Clicking on the “Domain” option, you are taken to the next screen.adding domain

You will see your existing domains listed on this screen, as well as the options to Add Domain and Edit/Delete Domain. Click on the “Add Domain” (marked with a red oval).

5Next screen asks to enter your primary as well as domain names.configuring domain on WP Engine

In the domain name field, type your primary domain name (In our case, it was Another field asks a value for Redirect From. You have to type your domain name in this field. (In our case, it was Once both the fields are filled, click on Add Domain button to complete this step.

6Login to WordPress Dashboard and select WP Engine General Settings tab.

7Configuring domain on CloudFlare.

Users having a login at CloudFlare can login here, while new users can sign up for a CloudFlare to register for free.CloudFlare Login for setting domain

9Getting Nameservers from CloudFlare Settings

Since your site is not yet submitted to, CloudFlare will try to fetch the details of the site, but will fail to do so. You have to add the site to CloudFlare and move ahead with the next step. You will get a screen like this –setting domain on CloudFlare

CloudFlare will list two Nameservers. You have to note down the details of the Nameservers before moving to the next step. (Marked with a red oval)

10Submit a plain text email to domain email submission

It must mention the details of the new domain name. Once done, you can check the submission at to find the name of the two Nameservers at the bottom of the screen. (Marked with red ovals)

Following these ten steps, you are all set to go with your domain on WP Engine
