WP Engine is a dedicated WordPress hosting platform, best suited for WordPress sites. Better speed, better security, better scalability, better community support and better prices are some of the most attractive features loaded with WP Engine WordPress hosting. In this post, we are going to understand how to set up co.za domain on WP Engine.
Mark de Scande set up the domain http://markdescande.co.za on WP Engine and found that the process was a bit tricky. He thought of sharing the detailed procedure to help users who are looking around to find a step by step guide to set up co.za domain on WP Engine.
1Login to WP Engine using your login credentials.
Click “Installs” option on the above screen. (Next to “Home” option, marked with a red oval.)
You have to click “Domain” option on the left side bar in the above screen. (Below “Overview”, marked with a red oval.)
You will see your existing domains listed on this screen, as well as the options to Add Domain and Edit/Delete Domain. Click on the “Add Domain” (marked with a red oval).
5Next screen asks to enter your primary as well as co.za domain names.
In the domain name field, type your primary domain name (In our case, it was markdescande.com). Another field asks a value for Redirect From. You have to type your co.za domain name in this field. (In our case, it was markdescande.co.za) Once both the fields are filled, click on Add Domain button to complete this step.
6Login to WordPress Dashboard and select WP Engine General Settings tab.
7Configuring co.za domain on CloudFlare.
9Getting Nameservers from CloudFlare Settings
Since your co.za site is not yet submitted to co.za, CloudFlare will try to fetch the details of the site, but will fail to do so. You have to add the site to CloudFlare and move ahead with the next step. You will get a screen like this –
CloudFlare will list two Nameservers. You have to note down the details of the Nameservers before moving to the next step. (Marked with a red oval)
It must mention the details of the new domain name. Once done, you can check the submission at co.za to find the name of the two Nameservers at the bottom of the screen. (Marked with red ovals)
Although you may have to wait for sometime before DNS propagation takes place worldwide. Mark de Scande would be happy to answer any of your queries related to set up co.za domain. Use the comment box below to post your comments.
