I am in the process of helping out a customer to speed up WordPress 3.5.1 blog
1) Please do the following and see if Quick Cache will work with your set up
1.1) Install Quick Cache
Go to setting and just turn it on that’s it.
Now open up a fresh Google Chrome browser load the page and press F5 to reload the page.
Now on the page press Crtl U and go to the bottom of page source. If you see three green lines your good to go.
If you don’t have one in your root directory just make a file in NotePad++ and save it as php.ini
Add this one line:
zlib.output_compression = on
Now test it on: http://ismyblogworking.com/www.markdescande.com
Page Gzip YES
Feed Gzip YES
If you see Page and Feed Gzip is working go to the next step.
If it don’t work and you get a 500 err then remove the line zlib.output_compression = on and add it to top of the .htaccess as follows.
php_flag zlib.output_compression on
define('WP_POST_REVISIONS', false ); define('EMPTY_TRASH_DAYS', 1 ); // zero days #define('DISABLE_WP_CRON', true); /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
Now if you have server load problems please remove the # define(‘DISABLE_WP_CRON’, true);
These setting are only to speed up WordPress 3.5.1
